BOTANICAL NOTECARDS
Four different sets of botanical notecards available.
"Traditional Botanical Print Notecards" has 10 traditional illustrations.
"Interpretive Botanical Print Notecards" has 2 each of the "interpretives."
"Sunflower" and "Grasses" notecards are shown below.
Notecards are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2", blank inside, and come with envelopes.
Set of notecards with envelopes is $15 plus shipping to non-members; $12.75 plus shipping to members.

Subject matter for 2009:
Baldcypress, Taxodium distichum
Black alder or common winterberry, Ilex verticillata

Concolor fir, Abies concolor
Kentucky coffeetree, Gymnocladus dioicus

Diospyros virginiana
Sugar maple, Acer saccharum
Categories:
TRADITIONAL BOTANICAL PRINT: An accurate and detailed plant portrait, blending
artistry with scientific accuracy.
BOTANICAL INTERPRETATION: Botanical subject matter rendered with artistic
freedom.
Guidelines: Slides or high-resolution jpegs of paintings,
drawings or prints, etc. will be considered.
Slides or jpegs need to be labeled clearly with the artist's name.
The original artwork should NOT be submitted.
If sending slides, artists should include a self-addressed, stamped envelope
for return of slides, otherwise slides will not be returned. Competition
is open to all artists (local, national and international) age 18 or older.
Full-color media is preferred. The final print will be reproduced to 8 ½
x 11".
Awards: The winning artist will receive a $150 prize and 10 copies
of the finished print.
Judges: The competition will be judged by representatives from the
Nebraska Statewide Arboretum and the Nebraska Arts Council.
Deadline: November 1, 2008
